FOR THE LOVE OF CHILDREN
MCYOUTH NEWS

Christmas time is upon us. We had a very successful Christmas pageant last Sunday, entitled "Double Take" in which all of the youth and children participated. It was entertaining and the kids all learned a lot about the differences in the telling of the two different Gospel accounts of the Christmas story. We are blessed to have a very talented group of children in our church.
The youth have started a new Bible study on Sunday evenings. "Bible Lessons 4 Youth" is a great Cokesbury resource, and this month we are studying the Christmas Story from the perspectives of Mary, Elizabeth and the Shepherds. It has proven to be quite interesting so far. If there are any young people from 6th grade up (including college students) who are interested, we are meeting at 5 p.m. through the rest of December in order to be able to share in the other Advent activities of the church that begin at 6 p.m. In January, we will go back to our regular meeting time of 6 p.m. We meet in the Youth Hut just north of the Sanctuary.
The youth did raise enough money to go on our planned trip to Pigeon Forge to attend a youth conference. We will leave around 7 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, and return late on December 29. It should be a wonderful worship event and meeting. Please keep us in your prayers as we travel. Thank you again for all of your support.
